This 15 minute flight will depart from The Huntsman at Holmfirth, West Yorkshire travelling at a height of around 1500 feet.

The flight takes in the local Moors, villages and hamlets along the western side of the Pennines. Saddleworth has great history originally for domestic wool production and following the Industrial Revolution it became a centre for cotton spinning and weaving. Now world famous for the annual Whit Friday Brass Band Competitions and the incredibly popular 1940s Yanks Weekend.

The flight initially routes west towards Black Hill trig point situated at 1909 feet above sea level and the highest point in West Yorkshire, next you will see Saddleworth Moor and the popular Dovestone Reservoir, with views of Alphin Pike standing at 1539 feet above sea level. You then fly over Greenfield, Uppermill, Delph and Denshaw Villages, turning to track over Castleshaw Moor, Close Moss, skimming Butterley Reservoir at the bottom end of Wessenden Moor, to return to the site. A must for locals!
