This tour departs from The Riverside Hotel, Betws-y-Coed, Conway, LL24 0AS

Your trip starts from the tourist settlement of Bettws-y-Coed, situated in the striking Snowdonia National Park, surrounded by trees, mountains and rivers. The area originated around a monastery in the 16th Century.

From this point you will track southwest, transiting over Dolwyddelan Castle. The castle was built in the 13th Century by Llwelyn the Great. Dolwyddelan, along with nearby Dolbadarn and Prysor, formed advantageous mountain fortresses for the Welsh ruler to keep opposition parties at bay.

An incredible variety of backdrops continue to reveal beneath you, as you pass over the historic mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog and on to Portmerion, the charming Italian style village made prominent by 'The Prisoner' television series.

Then flying North you will soar over Beddgelert, a pretty village and setting for Rupert the Bear. Next you will have to watch out for two of most celebrated Welsh legends, the red and white dragons at Castle Dinas Emrys – home of the dragon you see flapping on the Welsh flags. In 1945 the site was excavated and archaeologists discovered a lake and ruins of a foretress belonging to Vortigern's time, matching the legend! (For further Dragon Legend information please see https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/craflwyn-and-beddgelert/features/a-tale-of-two-dragons).

You will then fly past Mount Snowdon standing at 1085m high being the highest mountain in Wales, before returning back to Betws-y-Coed, after a truly memorable trip!

Please note, a weight restriction of 95kg per passenger applies to this flight.
