Dambusters Run

During the flight you will retrace one of the Dambuster training routes flown by the famous 617 Squadron’s as they practised low-level flying to perfect their ‘dambusting’ technique over the twin towers. This will allow you will gain a unique insight into the skill and bravery of the 617 Squadron in their Lancaster Bombers, as they prepared for their daring mission to destroy the Mohne and Eder Dams in Germany’s Ruhr Valley during World War II.

You will fly at around 1500 feet, taking in some of the most breath taking scenery in the Peak District, before proceeding alongside the Ladybower, Derwent and Howden Dams themselves. The Dambusters pleasure flight is available on several weekends throughout the year. A thoroughly enjoyable pleasure flight around the High Peak / Dark Peak area of Derbyshire which lasts approximately 20 or 30 minutes depending on your chosen flight.

On a 30 minute / 45 mile Dambusters Run from The Moorlands, Owler Bar, Sheffield and The Knights Table near Buxton passengers also view Chatsworth House from the air gaining an unrivalled view of this magnificent Stately Home and surrounding Estate.
